Mr. Sherwood was born in Capitola, California in 1896 and graduated from Oregon Agriculture College (now Oregon State University) with a B.S. degree. He came to Juneau in 1940 from Eagle Rock, California with his wife, Gladys (Happy), two daughters and son. They purchased Mrs. Jensine Pederson's dairy in the Mendenhall Valley and moved into the log and frame farmhouse.
